Too much vertical -- Meg C. 11:49, 18 February 2009 (EST)

This one has too many vertical "columns", IMHO. I'll try a version 4 that combines the best of the prior 3. Send comments!

I think you're right - the increase 'verticality' of this design really highlights some aspects that we may not want to stress as much - I'm not sure whether docs would care too much about the 'vital signs' section, but my guess is 'not very much'. Some aspects get an exaggerated real estate proportion here.

Screening results box -- Wilhelm 13:25, 18 February 2009 (EST)

If you are first coming into the patient chat, what would be in this large box on the right? Obviously you don't want screening results yet. Would it just be blank, waiting for tests/results to be chosen? Or could you put the chief complaint, vitals, etc, and have a 2 column design (instead of 3 columns)? On another line of thought, on mockup_2, when you click on "screening results", where will those results be displayed? In the box by Cynthia's picture?

Interface needs to change with course -- Karen 14:01, 18 February 2009 (EST)

In the current example, Focus on Screening, I was thinking we would not want to provide them with Screening results. We'd want the doc to ask the questions one by one themselves. Wit the course on Brief INterventions, I think it would be a good idea to provide a completed screening results. I still think we should provide a brief summary of the past medical history and some History of the present illness in order to channel them away from discussions about diagnosis and toward the goal of the course: a focus on substance abuse.

Re: Interface needs to change with course -- Meg C. 15:03, 18 February 2009 (EST)

Yes, Karen, I agree. I'd like for now to just get a basic layout set up that we can change and manipulate for each course. Is there a list anywhere of all of the possible types of information you might want to present? Is this info in the history? I'm thinking of a list like: Screening courses - include screening tools, physical exam, etc. - BI course - include screening results, lab results, physical exam, etc.

If I know all of the possible elements that we might need to present during an SP then I can design the interface to make sure everything fits...  :)

Interface should be more generalizable across projects -- wright 09:45, 19 February 2009 (EST)

Meg, overall, I really appreciated these new looks at the interface, especially ones that can be approached without actually fiddling with Drupal. Overall (and this is with my psdeudo-programming hat on), I think these all suffer from the same lack of scalability across projects (MSEtOH, SBIRT, Pain), in that the interface here has a specific link for 'screening'. My thought there is that we can somehow move towards a more general 'display the results from this thing' widget to the user. This has the twofold benefit of 1) addressing some of the issues that Karen mentioned where we would like to use SPs to actually do the screening 2) allows the same interface to be used for another project which has nothing to do with screening.

Re: Interface should be more generalizable across projects -- wright 09:51, 19 February 2009 (EST)

Instead of just coming up here and stressing what I don't like, I think I should point out that there's lots here thats really positive. I really like that we have a picture near the chat, I like the suggestion of a somewhat dynamic interface that I'm getting from the extra-box buttons and the arrow to the box thats changing. If we can somehow generalize that system so that we can let them choose screens, tests, whatever, then I think we'll get closer to a winning interface.

How about a look without so many words -- Tanner 23:39, 19 February 2009 (EST)

I would agree. It would help to have a solution that is a little more vague
